LINEA AQUA - OVERVIEW
Linea Aqua commenced operations in 2001, when the MAS Group joined hands with swimwear giant Speedo International (UK) and Brandot International (USA). Linea Aqua's product capabilities range from high-performance competition swimwear to designer wear, leisure and children's swimwear.
Driven by its vision to be the best Swimwear solutions provider in the world, Linea Aqua boasts a highly skilled in-house innovation team and design studio responsible for revolutionary design and product innovation such as the 'Shape & Enhance' range utilising MAS licensed Silicon technology to give the wearer a more contoured shape through targeted support and control.
Having manufactured competition swimwear for Speedo for the 2004 Olympics – where Linea Aqua supplied swimsuits for 13 countries – and the Melbourne World Championships in 2006, Aqua's exceptional standards and attention to detail is evident not only in its product portfolio but also in its partnerships and customer portfolio which feature some of the world's leading swimwear brands.
Aqua's global reach has been facilitated with the opening of the state of the art manufacturing facility in Hung Yen Province, Vietnam handing Aqua a competitive advantage through Vertical Dominance.
Aside from our emphasis on lean manufacturing practices and advanced product engineering technology, our success lies in our exceptional human capital; we firmly believe that our employees are instrumental to the success of our business and we have endeavoured to further develop and engage our human capital by formulating customised training programs catering to their unique requirements across all levels of the organisation. Linea Aqua was recognised by the Association of Human Resource Professionals for its industry Best Practices in Human Resource Management (2015), ranking among the top 10 organisations in Sri Lanka.
Deep rooted in Linea Aqua’s culture is its responsibility towards the community and ecosystem that it inhabits. To this end, we have actively conducted numerous sustainability and CSR initiatives under the 'Aqua Cares' banner focusing on three fundamental aspects: environmental, economic and social sustainability.
The Navodya School is one such initiative, which provides children with special needs the opportunity to learn and enjoy a better quality of life. Our environment sustainability efforts are primarily focused on water, energy conservation and biodiversity, with our flagship project being the clearing of the Bundala National Park (Sri Lanka) of invasive plants species and the establishment of an Ex-situ Biodiversity Conservation hotspot within our factory premises.
Aqua's latest landmark accomplishment in the field of environmental sustainability is obtaining the Water Neutral Certification for its flagship plant, thereby making it the first apparel manufacturing facility in the world to have achieved this status, a Carbon, Water, Biodiversity & Waste Conscious company.
