MAS Holdings revives a victorious partnership with Sri Lanka Cricket
For 20 million Sri Lankans, there is no sport that could speak the language of pride as much as the game of cricket. It is an element of Sri Lanka’s DNA, fuelling passion and patriotism; it is simply put, a way of life. Therefore it was not surprising when Sri Lanka based apparel giant MAS Holdings revived a victorious partnership with Sri Lanka Cricket in September 2012, as the company, yet again, embarks on outfitting the National Cricket Team for the next three years; to power the pride of the nation.
MAS Holdings were presented with gold and silver awards at the HRM Awards 2012, as MAS Intimates Unichela won the Gold Award and MAS Active Division Silver this year. The HRM Awards are conducted by the Association of HR Professionals in Sri Lanka in collaboration with Aon Hewitt who is the content, knowledge and audit partner.

MAS Intimates, the pioneering lingerie manufacturing division of fashion and lifestyle group MAS Holdings, was honoured for the organization’s exceptional and innovative HR practices at Asia’s Best Employer Brand (ABEB) Awards 2012. The grand awards gala, hosted by the Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress & Stars of the Industry Group together with CMO Asia, endorsed by the Asian Confederation of Businesses and Universum Asia, was held on the 19th of July 2012 at Park Royal, Singapore. MAS Intimates was feted with the Award for Best HR Strategy in line with Business as well as the Award for Excellence in Training.

2012 is the year Bodyline celebrates 20 years.
In 1992, the strategic alliance of MAS Holdings joining hands with giants in the apparel industry MAST USA and TRIUMPH Germany to strengthen the partnership with knowledge and expertise, gave birth to Bodyline. This solid alliance has grown over the years and has become one of the strongest businesses and the biggest plants in South Asia.

MAS Holdings presents their 25 year tradition of “great working places” to the North of the country, as two major Divisions formalize plans to build manufacturing facilities, MAS Intimates Vidiyal and MAS Active Vaanavil, in Kilinochchi. The names of the facilities themselves, Vidiyal, meaning “dawn” and Vaanavil signifying “rainbows” aptly symbolize MAS Holdings’ thinking behind this venture. Like the “rainbow” which is a collaboration of colours, MAS’ passion is to unite communities and work together in the area to herald a new phase in the development of the region.

The MAS Holdings, Deutsche Bank and Dialog Summer Internship Programme concluded on the 15 August 2012 at the Dialog Future World Academy.

For the sixth consecutive year, MAS Holdings recognized and rewarded fifteen of the most academically gifted and exceptionally motivated students from local universities, at the Award Ceremony for Best Overall Student on the 20th of August 2012, held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel. These students were lauded not only for their academic excellence, but were also commended for taking initiatives to acquire other competencies essential for the corporate world.

MAS Intimates and Marks & Spencer Produce the World’s First Ever Carbon Neutral Lingerie Range
British retail giant Marks & Spencer plc (M&S) and MAS Intimates launched the world’s first Carbon Neutral Lingerie Range, taking another step towards sustainable apparel production. This project is part of M&S’ sustainability initiative, Plan A, launched in 2007 aiming to become the world’s most sustainable retailer by 2015.
